AUDITOR & MANAGER

Meet the oil behind the machine, ATS's manager Russelline Zimmerman. Russelline was born and raised on Curaçao. 

She obtained her bachelor's degree in Fiscal Law at Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen in the Netherlands. As part of her journey to becoming a Registered Accountant, she is currently completing the IPMA study.

Russelline has been a part of the ATS team since the very beginning in 2016.

A word from Russelline: 

"ATS is an outstanding organization. Some days I carry my auditor’s hat while other days I get to carry my manager’s hat. It has been a long road and I am very happy to see positive growth within the organization. ATS has made a huge impact on the compliance of Sint Maarten. 

Now, a lot of companies are becoming more aware of what they need to do to comply with the social health and tax premium laws of Sint Maarten. My hope for ATS is to see the organization and its employees grow bigger and stronger. 

As the manager, it is my duty to ensure that my staff is satisfied with the work that they do. I believe the opportunity to grow is not only for the benefit of the company but also for the employees themselves. In the next five years, I hope to see ATS profoundly recognized by the community of Sint Maarten."

AUDITOR & COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Meet Andre Mckenzie - who joined this team of budding young professionals in November 2022.

Andre was born in Jamaica and moved to Sint Maarten at age 6. He returned to Jamaica to pursue his studies in "Business Administration with an emphasis on Accounting" at the Northern Caribbean University.

To dive deeper into his passion for finance, Andre pursued a Master's in Finance and Investing at the London School of Business and Finance.

When asked "What prompted you to work in auditing, accounting, and compliance?" Andre responded: "When I was in high school I gravitated to accounting which I studied in college. But after my first auditing course... I thought THIS IS IT!"

"As ATS grows and expands it ensures compliance for businesses on Sint Maarten and I want to be a contributing member of that." 

AUDITOR & COMPLIANCE OFFICER

The team expanded in February 2023 - Meet Brigitte Emerenciana, born and raised in Curaçao.

Brigitte always dreamed of studying in the Netherlands - and she made it happen. She moved to Rotterdam and pursued both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Economics and Business.

Brigitte joined ATS due to the similarities in her knowledge and passion. And is excited to learn and grow more.

COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Clifton was born and raised on Sint Maarten. After high school, he decided to move to The Netherlands to pursue his studies in Assistant Accountant and Business Economics.

Clifton used to work at the airport for two years until he heard from a friend about a job opening at ATS which was related to his study. Which had him intrigued and when he was told that he can further his studies was a plus for him.

He has been working with ATS for 4 years, since September 2018.

ATS has provided him with opportunities and classes to grow within the department to be independent with newly gained knowledge. 

INSURANCE INSPECTOR

Efrich was Born in the Netherlands, in Amsterdam, and his parents were born in Aruba.

Efrich studied Commerciële Economie (CE) at the Hogeschool Utrecht in Utrecht in The Netherlands.

Efrich loves to communicate with people and furthermore, he is a person that likes to abide by rules and make sure others does so as well, therefore the compliance department was a good fit for him. He has been a part of SZV for 4 and a half years.

AUDITOR & COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Eunice Rozal is a Curaçao native who studied Tax & Law at the University of the Dutch Caribbean. Knowledgeable in Business Administration, Accounting, Compliance & Regulation, Anti Money Laundering & Combating Financing of Terrorists, and ’Wfm- Basis (wet financiële markten)’’.

Most of her work experience is in the private sector; the part of the economy that is not in the hands of the government. ATS is committed to the country's interests.We are engaged in conducting audit and compliance in the Tax and social premiums field. Increasing Tax and social premiums compliance on Sint Maarten is what motivates her to work at ATS.

Over the course of her career, Eunice has demonstrated perseverance and flexibility beyond measure. Her work ethic is based more on responsibilities and results than hours worked.

Her strengths are precision and focus, so she thrives in positions where she can use them. Additionally Eunice is also very deadline-oriented and always delivers on what she promises. Furthermore, it is important to learn and develop continuously. The internal classes offered by ATS, in addition to her degree and knowledge, enables her to provide the right expertise to the clients.

AUDITOR & COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Meet Farina Daal, originally from Curacao and has been living in Sint Maarten for 6 years now.

Farina went to college in Curacao and after obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Communication, she was looking for a job that would have her communicating and interacting with others/clients. She was very interested in the communication aspect of her study.

Stichting Bab offered the opportunity to work in their compliance department and in some way Farina was interacting with clients, so she took the job and has been working for over 10 years in the compliance sector. While working at SBAB Farina’s interest to learn more about the accounting and auditing grew and she got the opportunity to learn and work in these sections. 

In 2016 Farina was sent to Sint Maarten to continue with the compliance work and has been working for ATS in the compliance and auditing department since January 2018. And she is loving it.

ATS has offered many opportunities to grow as individual and growth through different skills improvement and education with the internal classes.

Farina’s interests have changed during the course of the years, however she is very content with my job at the moment. 

AUDITOR & COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Meet Jislenne, a native of Sint Maarten with parents of Haitian descent. She graduated from Milton Peters College (MPC) as a MAVO alumni with a diploma in economics. 

After graduating, she began working while obtaining my General Educational Development degree (GED). Jislenne describes herself as a dedicated and determined individual who takes pride in challenging herself and exceeding her expectations.

“Life is full of choices, it is up to you to make the right one!”

Hence her decision to further her studies in the Netherlands, where she pursued a degree in Accountancy. During her 11 years in the Netherlands, Jislenne worked alongside her studies at several accounting firms as an accounting assistant and at a housing agency as a business administrator.

“Working hard for something we don’t care about, is called stress. Working hard for something we love, is called passion.”

Because of her joy for analyzing companies’ financial situations, making sure they comply with the law and helping people in general, Jislenne was encouraged to pursue accounting/auditing. 

Shortly after moving to Sint Maarten in mid-2022, Jislenne officially joined the ATS team where she enjoys working on different projects, meeting and helping people on a daily basis. Jislenne is truly grateful to be part of ATS, where they work together to help their beautiful paradise called Sint Maarten.

INSURANCE INSPECTOR

Lionel was born and raised in the local village of St. Maarten. He studied Commerce with an emphasis on Banking & Insurance in the Netherlands. And has been working with SZV for 4 years.

After working for numerous years in the Banking & Insurance sector, Lionel believes Auditing and Compliance eventually chose him. Oblivious to that fact, he enjoys and prefers to work in an environment where he can see the direct impact of his work. 

Lionel wants to help companies and individuals identify weaknesses in regulatory compliance processes and assist them in creating paths for improvement.

Lionel's message: "There is no need to fear a Compliance Audit or The Inspector. On the contrary, a compliance audit can make businesses more efficient in the future. Audits, like those we carry out, usually highlight inconsistencies in a company’s processes, showing where there might be room for improvement. Any compliance auditing process will also include recommendations for correcting and preventing these problems and making your company compliant but also profitable."

AUDITOR

Meet Mariana who was born and raised in Sint Maarten. When she was just 17 years old, she went to further her studies in the Netherlands.

Mariana completed a Bachelor's in Business Administration at Hanzehogeschool in Groningen. During her bachelor's she did a half year study abroad for her certification in International Economics, followed by a Master's in Accounting at the Tilburg University in Tilburg. Currently she is doing a post-master in Accounting from Tilburg University in Curaçao.

Since highschool, in Milton Peters College Mariana followed the economy/ management & organisation track where she was exposed to Accounting and Auditing. She was really good at it and that prompted her to decide to continue in this field here at ATS.

AUDITOR & COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Meet Rhodine Martina, born in Curaçao. Team-player, goal-oriented and positive personality describes her well.

She originally studied International Business at the University of Curaçao. Working at ATS has encouraged her to resume her studies, She is currently pursuing a bachelor degree in Accountancy at the Inter-Continental University of the Caribbean.

She has always loved numbers, bookkeeping and most importantly helping others. And She genuinely believes in what ATS does for the community of Sint Maarten.

Rhodine started working for SBAB in February 2012, and since November 2016 officially under ATS. The knowledge and experienced she has gathered working for this organization is enormous. From getting to know the Fiscal Law, understanding bookkeeping and working together with the business community of Sint Maarten.

Rholdyne Lake was born in Haiti and raised on the friendly island of Sint Maarten. 

Rholdyne attended The Hague University of Applied Sciences in August 2014 and graduated in July 2018 with a Bachelor's in Financial Management and Control.

She joined the ATS team in August 2018 simply because of her eagerness to return home and give back to her wonderful community. "And I must say, ATS has given me that 'fresh' start in my audit career." 

It has been 4 years since Rholdyne has been an employee of ATS and she has only been continuously growing in her role. With the internal classes ATS provides and also the chance to further your studies externally, the future has only been looking very promising. 

Rholdyne is excited and looking forward to see her growth 5 years from now.
